A Fall Pine Creek Cookhouse Wedding in Aspen on Super 8 Film

September 19, 2026

Peak fall colors in Aspen, a first look surrounded by golden aspen trees, a surprise four-legged ring bearer, and a reception complete with beer burros and an affogato tower. Delaney and Jack’s Pine Creek Cookhouse wedding was filled with personality, beautiful mountain scenery, and so many moments worth remembering. Their entire wedding day was documented exclusively on Super 8 film, capturing the movement, energy, and nostalgia of their celebration in a way that feels completely different from traditional wedding videography.

A First Look Among the Aspen Trees

Delaney and Jack’s wedding took place during peak fall foliage in Aspen, Colorado, when the surrounding mountains were covered in brilliant shades of yellow and gold. Before their ceremony, they shared a first look among the aspens, surrounded by some of the most beautiful fall scenery Colorado has to offer. Pine Creek Cookhouse, nestled in the mountains of the Ashcroft Valley, provided an incredible setting for their celebration, with the changing leaves and dramatic mountain landscape creating the perfect backdrop for their Super 8 wedding film.

An Outdoor Mountain Wedding Ceremony at Pine Creek Cookhouse

For their ceremony, Delaney and Jack exchanged vows outdoors, surrounded by their guests and the mountains of Aspen. The weather held out just long enough for their ceremony, with a little rain arriving shortly afterward. One of the most memorable moments was a surprise Delaney had planned for Jack: their dog made an appearance as the ring bearer! They also incorporated film photography into their ceremony, taking photographs of each other at the altar. A personal touch that felt especially fitting for a wedding day being documented on Super 8. Between the mountain views, golden fall foliage, and the unexpected moments throughout their ceremony, there was no shortage of beautiful memories to capture.

Beer Burros, Live Music & An Affogato Tower

Following the ceremony, the celebration continued with cocktail hour, where beer burros made an appearance. Yes, actual donkeys! The reception was just as full of personality as the rest of their wedding day, with dinner, speeches, live music, and a lively atmosphere throughout the evening. One particularly special moment was Delaney’s first dance with her grandpa, a memory that made the celebration even more personal. And instead of an ordinary dessert display, they had an affogato tower, adding another fun detail to an already unforgettable reception. From the emotional moments to the more playful parts of the day, Delaney and Jack’s wedding had exactly the kind of energy that translates beautifully to Super 8 film.

A Nostalgic Aspen Wedding Film Shot on Kodak Super 8

Delaney and Jack’s entire wedding was filmed on Kodak Vision3 200T Super 8 film, with the film developed by Negativeland. Unlike traditional digital wedding video, Super 8 captures the day on physical motion picture film, creating a distinct texture, grain, and nostalgic quality. The subtle movement and organic imperfections of the medium make it especially fitting for weddings filled with candid interactions, movement, and atmosphere. From their first look among the golden aspens to the energy of their reception, Super 8 preserved the feeling of their wedding day in a way that is timeless, imperfect, and entirely their own.
