A mountaintop first look, waffles at 10,000 feet, private vows surrounded by the Tetons, and a sunset ceremony beneath the Wedding Tree. Tyler and Alex’s fall Wedding Tree elopement in Jackson Hole, Wyoming was an entire day of adventure, emotional moments, and celebrating with their closest family. From riding the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort tram to exploring Grand Teton National Park and ending the evening with dinner at the Mangy Moose, their 12-hour wedding day was documented on digital, 35mm film, and Super 8 video.

Getting Ready & A Mountaintop First Look at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
Tyler and Alex began their wedding day getting ready in Idaho before making their way toward Jackson Hole. Rather than having a traditional first look at their ceremony location, they chose something a little more adventurous: riding the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort tram to the top of Rendezvous Mountain. Surrounded by incredible mountain views, they shared a private first look at the top of the world. There were plenty of happy tears, cowboy hats, cowboy boots, and all the excitement of finally seeing each other on their wedding day. And of course, no trip to the top would be complete without stopping for waffles afterward.

Private Vows & Adventure Portraits in Grand Teton National Park
After their mountaintop adventure, we headed into Grand Teton National Park to explore some of the park’s most iconic locations. Our stops included Schwabacher Landing, the Chapel of the Transfiguration, and Mormon Row, each offering a different perspective of the Teton Range. At Schwabacher Landing, Tyler and Alex exchanged private vows, keeping that part of their wedding day just for the two of them. With the beautiful fall colors beginning to transform the landscape, we spent the afternoon exploring, taking portraits, and documenting all the little moments in between. Having a full 12 hours of coverage meant their day could include an entire mountain adventure without sacrificing time for their ceremony and celebration later that evening.

A Sunset Wedding Tree Elopement Ceremony
As evening approached, we made our way to the Wedding Tree in Bridger-Teton National Forest, one of the most scenic ceremony locations near Jackson Hole. With a small group of their closest people gathered around them, Tyler and Alex exchanged rings and officially became married as the sun began setting behind the mountains. The timing couldn’t have been more beautiful. Just as they shared their first kiss, the sun was setting, eventually giving way to an incredible pink sky over the Tetons. After their guests departed, they stayed behind for a private first dance, sharing one last quiet moment together beneath the Wedding Tree.

An Intimate Wedding Reception at the Mangy Moose
Following their ceremony, Tyler and Alex headed to the Mangy Moose in Teton Village for an intimate wedding reception with family. The upstairs space was set up for their celebration, complete with appetizers upon arrival, a family-style dinner, a dessert table, cake cutting, and a champagne tower. It was the perfect ending to a day that had already included so many incredible experiences, bringing everyone together for a relaxed evening after their mountain adventures.
